From the reviews
Dr. Kang is a highly skilled practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine. Along with her extensive experience treating a wide variety of health issues, she has a unique understanding of healing from both Eastern and Western perspectives and is able to clearly communicate this to her patients.
I am so happy to have found Kang Acupuncture. Dr Kang took such care in listening to my concerns and continues to be so helpful in easing the tension that has built up in my neck and shoulders. She is very gentle, and soft spoken. I immediately relax in her presence.
This was a great experience. It was my first time receiving acupuncture and the results were profound. I am a massage therapist, and I was managing a persistent pain in my right shin. After adding acupuncture to the routine the improvement was dramatic. Full range of motion was restored to my knee and I was pain free.
I have been going to Dr. Kang for years. My initial major problem was debilitating vertigo. I went to Penn, Jefferson, local ENTs and specialists. Every modern test you can imagine and medication...nothing helped. I was desperate and almost flew to Florida for a radical surgery on my eardrums.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
