I’ve been going to Healing Lotus for close to six months now. For years I had been experiencing extreme fatigue and GI issues. After having covid in May, my symptoms worsened to the point of beginning to feel depressed. I spoke with my GP who dismissed my symptoms and said that it was long covid.
I have been seeing Lei since 2018 before she opened Healing Lotus. I have been to many acupuncturists since being diagnosed with a lupus in 1999, Lei is the best practitioner I have been to.
Lei has been a Godsend for me. When I first came to her I had so many different health issues, it was hard to even figure out where to start to make things better. Lei was patient, kind, and explained her diagnoses and treatment plans in ways that were easy to understand.
I went to Lei because my husband I were in the process of tryingfor our second baby. When I met her she was very thorough with her examination and her way doing things.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
