From the reviews

My PT was unable to relieve my upper back/ shoulder pain and suggested I seek out dry needling. I’m so lucky I found John! I found great pain/ muscle relief from the sessions. I always leave feeling so much better than any PT or massage.

★★★★★ — Emily, Jul 2025

My experience with John Ditmars mirrors his many other five star reviews. I had never had acupuncture or cupping before. John demonstrated his knowledge, expertise, and skills at every step of the process and earned my trust. His therapies were incredibly beneficial for my injured shoulder.

★★★★★ — Brooks, Feb 2025

John is an excellent healer. He listens and is knowledgeable and kind. His knowledge of endometriosis is incredible. I've searched far and wide to find someone that could actually help balance my hormones, reduce pain, increase sleep, and help my appetite.

★★★★★ — Stephanie, Oct 2023

I went to John with a little skepticism about acupuncture, but with some shoulder and neck pain that I was desperate to get some relief on. I'm a whitewater paddler and depend on my shoulders, but also spend a lot of time at a desk.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
