The staff at the are five star in occupational therapy! From the first visit to my most recent appointment they have helped guide me through my recovery process. I have learned so much from the ladies at IRG. They made my braces for my wrists on the spot and they have helped me immensely.

I have been going to IRG for about a month for left lower back pain and truly could not speak more highly about everyone that works there and the care that I have received. I feel like more than just a patient and love the high energy that everyone who works here has.

★★★★★ — Ellie, Apr 2021

The ladies at IRG are fantastic. My appointments are hard work, and fun, but the ladies are extremely supportive, always cheerful and helpful at making physical therapy fun. I have never seen anyone leave without a big smile and a see you next time. I am a disabled veteran, so pt is nothing new to me.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
