What clients say about the cupping here
“Dr Calvin Wang is truly the best acupuncturist in the Bay Area!”
From the reviews
Wow! Dr Calvin Wang is truly the best acupuncturist in the Bay Area! He helped my shoulder and my trouble areas of pain tremendously and is beyond knowledgeable! I found him through ClassPass; I could not recommend him enough! Truly a healing experience ❤️! Dr. Calvin has the magic touch!
Calvin has helped me with numerous issues. I go weekly to him now as it is the best way to improve my health that I've found. He understands acupuncture deeply and will describe where he's putting the needles and for what reason.
Dr Wang is an extremely talented and compassionate healer. I have been seeing him for the past two years and every time I visit he fixes my energy and makes me feel like my best self. He’s extremely unassuming and humble in demeanor. I have seen MANY different acupuncturists and Dr. Want in my opinion in the best.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
