From the reviews

I have worked with Maya for a couple of years, and she is the best! From a womens health perspective I have learned so much from her! In home visits especially she is able to do manual work, dry needling, cupping and more! She helps as well create a plan to strengthen and target areas of concern.

Dr. Lespinasse is incredibly talented! I went to her for hip and back pain. She did dry needling on my hip and cupping on my back. After seeing her one time, I was feeling so much better! I went back to the gym the following week and didn’t have any pain!

After a hard delivery of my daughter in December, I knew I wanted to pursue pelvic floor therapy, but I didn’t realize just how connected the pelvic floor is to the rest of the body. Working with Dr. Maya at How’s Your Pelvis has been such an eye-opening and positive experience.

I was having urgency issues for a few years. I had previously brought it up to my PCP but like many have experienced, I got blown off saying it was just a "shy bladder" and just accepted the fact that it was my reality. I finally came across How's Your Pelvis and it has changed my life! Dr.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
