From the reviews

I have had hundreds of massages in my life, and my session with Julie ranks as one of the best! She has such great energy and makes you feel so calm, relaxed and comfortable. She takes her time and really pays attention to what your body needs.

★★★★★ — Kate, Apr 2023

Julie utilizes various techniques to clear energies that are not useful and creates a safe, peaceful environment for healing. My time with Julie was incredible and I am grateful to have Julie be part of my journey.

★★★★★ — Regina, Nov 2021

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a massage from Julie, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped into her cozy and inviting space, I knew I was in for a treat.

★★★★★ — Scott, Jul 2024

It's official, I have a new massage therapist now! Her name is Julie Marttila. Having been a massage therapist myself, I am very select about who I allow to massage me. It's such a personal thing. A good friend recommended Julie, so I decided to try her.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
