Several years ago, I reached out to Ana Maria because I was interested in cupping. Little did I know that she would expose me to a whole new world of massage. Ana Maria is so much more than a massage therapist. In fact, I never say I am going for a massage; I say I am going for body work.
Ana Maria has changed my life! I am so grateful to have found her. I had been dealing with right hip pain that would go all the way down to my knee, calf and feet/toes. I have seen ortho docs, did PT twice. And while the pain would relieve for a while, it always came back.
I had such a wonderful experience with my therapist today. From the moment I walked in, she treated me like a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. She truly listened, took the time to understand what I’ve been going through, and explained things in a way that was both thoughtful and empowering.

What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
