From the reviews

Great service and the therapy was very effective! If you have tension in your body body from your job or the gym i suggest cupping, cryo and the IR sauna. I feel noticeably better after just one session. I can hardly wait to come back next week.

Great recovery day options for anyone active! I did cupping for the first time and it relieved so much tension I had in my upper back. The woman there has magic hands, which I was told about after my treatment. She gives a spectacular athletic massage with cupping, tension work and massage gun.

★★★★★ — Alex, Feb 2022

HighKey Balance is the best sports massage and recovery studio in DC. Serki, Daniel, and the team are phenomenal! From cryotherapy to cupping and massage therapy - I’ve had nothing but great experiences and always leave feeling 100% better. Highly recommend HighKey Balance!

★★★★★ — Emily, Nov 2023

Serki was amazing! The mobility I had after the massage was UNREAL. She found pressure/trigger points and tension in my neck and shoulders that I didn’t even realize I was holding. She answered every question I had and gave me recommendations on how to maintain the mobility outside of the massage sessions.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
