From the reviews
I had previously gone to a fantastic PT at the Highbar facility in Warren, however she was on leave and i needed dry needling for a glute issue that was so painful I couldn’t sleep. I asked if Tiverton had a PT certified in dry needling and found that Patrick was.
I had major back surgery, and my surgeon recommended Highbar for my rehab. It's convenient for me, as they are located in Longplex, which is close to home. My first appt with Patrick was comprised of him asking me about how the surgery went, pain management, reviewing the surgeons notes, and getting to know me.
I would like to thank Patrick and all the staff at Highbar Tiverton. They all worked with me as I was struggling with lower back pain. Today, on my last day, I feel so much stronger and so much more confident and happy to report no pain!
Everyone in this practice is skilled and professional. They offer tons of exercise equipment and massage as well as dry needling. They are great to work with. In particular Brooke Spina is a fabulous therapist-patient and caring and fun to work with. Ronin, the PT aide, is also great-kind and helpful.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
