Just came out of a great 1-hr full body massage (Helix Signature massage) with Heather. It was exactly the pampering and tension relief I needed. She really helped relax and work out stress I had, especially where I requested in my back and arms that were fatigued.
I am so glad I found Helix! As a violinist/middle school orchestra director I was suffering with tendinitis in my wrist and elbow director, which inhibiting my ability to play and conduct properly. I was in constant pain, and had very limited motion in my right wrist.
I have been going to Helix for over a year now! I absolutely love the massage with Heather, and I also tried the foot detox. The massages release tons of stress and pent up muscle tension, and she can go deep tissue. The foot detox was so relaxing and left my feet feeling wonderful and my body drained of toxins.
Today was my first visit at Helix Therapies, and I was not disappointed! Laying on the massage table before Heather came in was relaxing and the smells and sounds started to help the stress melt away. The massage was absolutely wonderful and I realized that I need to treat myself more often.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
