The staff at Health Quest - Berkley have helped me get back to doing all the things I love. I recently "graduated" from Health Quest Physical Therapy - Berkley for persistent knee pain after receiving care for several months.
I unknowingly had been dealing with a case of Frozen shoulder for over a year and had modified my whole life to avoid using my dominant arm. I walked in one afternoon after not being able to take the pain anymore and could barely lift my right arm.
Great staff, great equipment, quality care. I've been a patent here too many times myself, now a driver bringing a wheelchair bound patient. As a physician myself I fortunately know what to look for in a facility. This is a good facility. The only thing lacking, and it's a big lack, is a handicap assist door.
My experience with the team at HealthQuest Berkley has been top-notch. I was prescribed PT for an ankle injury and decided to go here since it was close to me. From the first appointment and throughout the therapy process, the team has been super supportive and knowledgeable.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
