After searching for years for the perfect combination of massage and therapy, I finally found it at North Little Rock Massage Therapy. Tammy is phenomenal…..listening to my needs and applying her skills as a massage therapist to resolve them in a healing way.
Tammy is a gentle spirit. Don’t let that fool you, she can apply the necessary pressure for working out the stiff muscles. I had a very sore shoulder when I arrived; her massage brought me great relief. She was very careful to check in with me to make sure I was comfortable the whole time.
I got out of the routine of getting a massage after a few mediocre experiences, however, when I recently had a nasty knot in my back, I gave Tammy a call. I am so happy I did! Tammy took great care, using a variety of techniques and tools, and gently worked that knot out.
I don't often get massages because I'm a little bit picky. But now and then I indulge and hope for the best. September 11th I decided to check out the new massage therapist, Emily Dunn, at North Little Rock Massage Therapy. I prefer deep tissue massage & it turns out she has strong hands, which was welcome.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
