I brought my husband in today. Even though my husband was in pain he immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Mayland and Martha. They are warm, welcoming, and caring. They did everything possible to help him and he is now on the road to recovery thank goodness! I can't wait to give their massage therapist a try.

★★★★★ — Diana, Sep 2017

Dr. Mayland has always provided high quality care in the 15-ish years that I have been going to him when I need to. He doesn’t drag out care to nickel & dime me, but always takes the time to make sure I’m back to where I need to be before sending me back out.

★★★★★ — Taylor, May 2023

Dr. Mayland and his staff are amazing! They are kind, respectful and show a genuine interest in their patients. From the moment I first walked in the door, they have been helpful and friendly. They are very conscious about your time. I never have to wait to get into my appointment. Dr.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
