From the reviews

…She also did cupping during the massage, which was so effective for the issues I have. The Gravity Bodywork space is welcoming and peaceful, and has a great cozy vibe. I genuinely look forward to my sessions with Kerstin, she is a truly gifted massage therapist.

It’s so hard to find a therapist sometimes, and Kirsten is more than that - she’s a specialist. I found her on my google searching and I thank God bc she is truly amazing. I went in with pain in my shoulders and arms and Kirsten went straight to my pain points.

I've been seeing Kerstin for years now but most recently after hip replacement surgery. After many visits of PT I felt worse & was getting discouraged. After one magical hour with her I felt great & after our 2nd appt together she had me back to 100%. Her space is as beautiful & calming as she is. Highly recommend!!

★★★★★ — Deena, May 2024

Wow! Kerstin is so special. Intuitive, skilled, and just knew where I needed deeper and lighter touch. My body NEEDED exactly the bodywork that I received from her and I’m very grateful. Can’t wait to go back!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
