I have been going to Melissa at The Healing Point for 7 years now, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She has such a calming presence and truly listens to my concerns…she is so knowledgeable about the human body, and has taught me so much about health, nutrition, etc.

I have been a patient of Melissa’s for almost 10 years and can’t recommend her enough!! In that time she has guided me through countless things - from fertility support, sciatica, allergies, digestive issues - you name it, she has likely helped me with it!

★★★★★ — Kat, Aug 2025

I found Melissa through my fertility journey and have been seeing her since before starting fertility treatments, during, and after. She listens to your needs and tailors your session to those needs. She is calming, reliable and after her sessions makes you feel more relaxed and that your needs were met.

★★★★★ — Nicole, Aug 2025

I was treated for diabetic foot neuropathy after being told by many others it could not be fixed. They were wrong and Dr Sommer is a miracle worker. I now can walk playing 18 holes of golf.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
