My husband got us a couples massage as a Valentines present. Maggie and Gayla met with us beforehand to discuss massage preferences. I had never gotten a massage that offered so many extras like aromatherapy, cupping, hot towels and hot stones all built in.
I’ll never go anywhere else; the rooms are beautifully decorated, the sound machines and candles make the perfect ambiance. The owner, Janie, truly cares about her people, her clients, and her business. She hires the best people and her prices are the best value you’ll find.
Alek was incredible! He definitely has a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology and it shines through his work. I expressed my interest in him focusing on my shoulders, upper back, and neck due to tension migraines, and he did an amazing job targeting those areas along with the rest of my body.
My husband and I had such a wonderful experience. Spencer and Rose had us walking out feeling like a bowl of pudding. My husband was in great hands with Rose. He said the neck and shoulder work really helped his tension.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
