From the reviews
I went to see Dr. Toledo for pain that I was continuously experiencing in my hip and shoulder while exercising. I've tried many other treatment protocols and honestly was reluctant to try acupuncture because of the needles; however, I discovered that Dr.
I cannot recommend Alvaro Toledo enough. After struggling with getting pregnant, he helped me get pregnant twice. I truly believe he played a big part in helping me conceive and I would recommend him to anyone facing similar issues (or any health issues).
I am so glad that my first acupuncture experience was with Alvaro. Admittedly, I was skeptical of the efficacy of acupuncture to manage chronic pain. I live with daily pelvic pain that began eight years ago. I tried pelvic floor physical therapy for several years without success.
A.P. Toledo…Alvaro, in my opinion is the “best of the best.” First of all, Alvaro always takes the time to sit with the patient to discuss issues and concerns; providing excellent feedback so that the patient understands acupuncture-dry needling procedures.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
