As an athlete who’s constantly challenging my body through lifting and conditioning, getting a full-body sports massage and cupping session with Jaime at Faithworks Massage was exactly what I needed.
…I received a head and neck massage, and he recommended cupping therapy to help with the deep tension in my neck and shoulders. The session was powerful. I cried, laughed, and left feeling incredibly grateful, refreshed, and lighter than I have in a long time.
Jaime is excellent at what he does. His technique is intentional, strong, and incredibly effective. Every session feels tailored, like he instinctively knows what areas need the most attention.
I went in just looking for rest and relaxation and I came out feeling like a totally new person that is well rested and relaxed. He always start by asking what areas needs extra help and he does wonders! I came in with tight hip flexor and he help greatly! He also gave me some advise on helping my hip flexors as well.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
