From the reviews
Essence Community Acupuncture & Herbs is an incredible space for healing, rejuvenation, and holistic health and wellness. I emailed Danielle to ask some questions about the acupuncture field and she went out of her away to meet me and answer my questions.
Awesome experience , added cupping at no extra charge. Included with my session. I feel fantastic!!!
I feel like I hit the lottery finding Danielle and Essence Community Acupuncture & Herbs. I was lucky enough to have a positive long term relationship with a wonderful Community Acupuncture in North Andover and thought I would have to travel an hour to find that again after recently moving to the South Shore/South…
What a fabulous place! I have received acupuncture regularly in the past and decided to pursue treatment following a health issue. Essence is warm, inviting, and feels like a cozy refuge. Danielle spends time to get to know you (seriously, she probably knows more about my health history than my primary!).
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
