From the reviews
I’m so grateful to have been recommended to Dr. Batool! Visiting her for hijama and learning about functional medicine has been an incredible experience. I’ve learned so much about the benefits of hijama and have seen the positive effects firsthand on my own body and wellbeing.
Dr. Batool Dawood takes the time to listen, explain, and find the root cause of health concerns. Her functional medicine approach, combined with her deep knowledge as a pharmacist, makes such a difference. I’ve experienced real improvements in my health that I didn’t get elsewhere.
Dr.batool has helped me understand the benefits of wet cupping. I had a lot of back and neck tension along with anxiety. The wet cupping has helped me tremendously over several sessions. Dr Batool also always has good advise around integrative medicine and how one can alleviate what afflicts them.
Dr. Batool is amazing Mashallah. I can personally say she has healed me while teaching me the sunna practices of Hijama. I love the fact that she practices functional medicine and getting to the root cause of disease processes especially when we live in a pharmaceutical dominated industry.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at ENAYA Health & Wellness
ENAYA Health & Wellness comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
