From the reviews
…The cupping sessions were a huge game changer. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is in need of physical therapy and is finally ready to take that step into becoming healthy and strong once again.
…Me personally “cupping” was the suggested path to take followed by therapy which consists of specific stretches etc that target the specific locations of discomfort. Throughout the time that you attend these sessions, the therapists here will eventually feel like family and the bond you will form is incredible.
1. The story of my injury and what led me to call: After undergoing a total knee replacement surgery, I faced significant challenges in regaining my mobility and strength. The recovery process was tougher than I had imagined, and the persistent pain made it difficult to stay motivated.
It all began with onset of extreme shoulder/arm pain and pinch nerve. I had limited range of motion and use of my arm. After visiting an Orthopedic and having an MRI of my shoulder/arm it was determined that I had rotator cuff strain/or slight tear, as well as tendinosis. I was referred to Physical Therapy.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
