From the reviews
As a birth and postpartum doula and as a perimenopausal woman I know firsthand how important it is to take care of the pelvic floor and how much it can weaken after pregnancy, birth, and in general.
Dr. Sarah Catherine has helped me tremendously during my pregnancy. The dry needling and cupping she has done for me has relieved the hip/lower back pain I was experiencing.
Ladies PLEASE use this team of women for your benefit! Pelvic floor therapy is very underrated and yes it does help!! I was barely 20 weeks pregnant and in excruciating pain in my pelvis, hips, and lower back.. I couldn't do anything (sit, stand, walk, laydown, nothing) and it was due to Pubic Symphysis Disfunction.
I was dealing with what felt to me like an urgent pelvic floor issue when I called Empowered Wellness. I was at the lowest of my lows regarding symptoms, and I called the front desk in tears, telling them I had never been seen there but was in desperate need to see a PT.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
