What clients say about the cupping here
“She has been helping me recover physically from two pregnancies, but is also helping me gain more mobility in the knee I had ACL surgery on just before getting pregnant with my first child.”
“I look forward to every one hour session because I know it's going to be time well spent with a true professional who is invested in my success.”
“She seems to have the philosophy of educating you and giving you an exact program that you can then go and do from the convenience (and lower cost) of your own home or gym.”
“I thought I would need surgery after months of pain in my joints, but I spoke to her first had a one hour session where we figured things out and she put me on a path to recovery.”
From the reviews
Elissa is very thorough, and it is apparent that she is an avid learner when it comes to the best treatment for each case. She was fun to be around for our son, and did an amazing job helping him recover from his injury. We will be back for anything PT related!
Dr. Elissa is a phenomenal physical therapist. I was having some issues with my lower back/upper glutes as well as stiffness in my neck and shoulder that I had been trying to fix on my own for years, but they were just getting worse and really impacting my life negatively.
I recently visited Dr. Elissa for treatment of golf elbow, which I discovered was linked to underlying issues with my shoulder. From the moment I arrived, Dr. Elissa took the time to thoroughly understand my symptoms and the root causes of my discomfort.
I initially went to Elissa for PT work on my shoulder. I wanted to see if I could fix my issues with PT vs having another surgery. Through the exercises and bodywork that Elissa did….I began to see more mobility and less pain every week.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
