From the reviews
Dr. Qasim is a great one on one sports physical therapist! I am a pregnant weightlifter who suffers with hip/back pain and Dr. Qasim used multiple methods to address the pain I was experiencing. He included a thorough evaluation, targeted exercises, cupping and muscle scraping.
I had been skeptical of physical therapy for years after a less than stellar 12 sessions in 2023. Dr. Khan has not only changed my mind on the practice - working with him has been truly transformational for my body.
After a rib trauma injury, I was struggling with basic things like breathing deeply, pushing or pulling my own body weight, even finding a position to sleep in without pain. I felt completely disconnected from my body and unsure how to move forward. That first session with Dr.
Dr Qasim is the highest quality physical therapy I've gotten in 10 years, across multiple injuries as a highly-active adult. I saw him for neck/nerve issues and within 1 visit he identified how to create space to decompress nerves where run-of-the-mill clinics had failed.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
