I recently had the pleasure of visiting Element Massage in Stoneham, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the service I received. From the moment I reached out, the manager went above and beyond to accommodate my appointment request, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free scheduling process.
I've been a member of Elements Massage of Stoneham for a while now, and today was my first massage back since the onset of the pandemic. To he honest, I was a little nervous going into my appointment, but I could not be happier with my experience.
The Stoneham location was fantastic to visit. They are extremely clean and have been on top of procedure during this pandemic. When I arrived someone walked out the forms I needed to fill out to my car and told me to come to the door after I finished filling them out.
I was looking forward to one hour of me time - pampering and total relaxation. That is exactly what I got - along with some information about my skin. Alyssa is very well spoken and knowledgeable with regards to her art as an esthetician. I look forward to my next appointment with her.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
