From the reviews
Dr. Jacks was recommended to me by a mutual friend; It was the darkest period of my life, and I didn’t know to do anymore. I was being treated for major depressive disorder, and general anxiety disorder with therapy and medication but it just didn’t seem like enough sometimes.
Due to chronic inflammation issues (knees, elbows etc); I decided to seek out alternative methods to help manage the inflammation. The work with my other Dr.'s wasn't making a difference and I was constantly down a path of bloodwork and pushing meds.
I have had the pleasure of knowing and seeing Whitney for acupuncture for 4 years now. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, but she is kind, empathetic and holistic. She bridges the physical aspects of health with the emotional aspects so well. She has always made me feel so seen during our treatments.
I’ve been receiving treatments from Dr. Jacks for years, first as a massage therapist and now as an acupuncturist, and I can honestly say she is an incredible healer. When I recently developed tendonitis, I turned to Whitney for help, and her acupuncture treatments have made a world of difference.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
