Dr. Karman Gossett’s acupuncture treatments and whole body health practices have been vital to me over the past year I’ve been under her care. Karman is skilled, knowledgeable, intuitive, caring, and honest. I have been going to her for acupuncture for about two years for knee issues and other health concerns. When I recently couldn't get there for a couple of months, I could tell a difference (and felt so much better when I did go back).
I was so nervous the first time going to acupuncture. Karman was great to work with from the start. She called me even before my first appointment to go over how the first appt. would look like and answered all my questions! I go for fertility purposes but I love going to just relax, have my acu-nap and de-stress.
Dr. Karmon is excellent and always puts her customers first. I would highly recommend her to anybody. :)
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
