I have been visiting Dr. Shi for acupuncture treatment for the past four years, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Dr. Shi is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in acupuncture, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The treatment itself was highly effective.

Dr. Shi and his staff are five star, across the board. Their experience ad professionalism has help so much healing in not only for myself, but for many family and friends. We have been several acupuncturists and Dr. Shi is the absolute best in his profession!

★★★★★ — Toni, Nov 2021

As a physical therapist, I have always been big advocate for acupuncture and often refer my patients to an acupuncturist for chronic pain and inflammation, but Dr. Shi has truly exceeded my expectations. I was suffering from chronic hives for the past 5 months.

★★★★★ — Stephanie, Apr 2023

I am closing in on 85 years of age of which 50 of these years or more I have suffered with constipation. I have tried whatever my doctors have prescribed, maybe a little relief, but same discomfort again and again. I went to see Dr Shi and he said, “I can fix your problem”, and I replied, “I hope so”. What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
