My boyfriend and I went to Divine Massage today in Mattapoisett for a couples massage to celebrate our anniversary. Our therapists were Sue & Israel. They we both excellent; we were very happy with our experience. I liked that they asked us ahead of time what we wanted them to focus on.
I am so happy to have found this place! I have been trying to book an appointment everywhere but they were all a week out. I really needed a massage asap because I have been feeling fatigue for the past 2 weeks.
Just what I was looking for! Very clean, Professional atmosphere, with Qualified Therapists ready to help my body heal. Each therapist I've experienced listened to me and addressed my problem areas. I had a series of lymphatic drainage massages here after extensive abdominal surgery. Debbie is certified in this specialty, and the massages helped speed my recovery and decrease swelling. The office is very clean, and lovely, and welcoming.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
