From the reviews

I have been going to Jackie at Deep Tissue Massage for several years. As a runner, I struggle with tight IT bands, hamstrings, quads, etc. Regular sessions with Jackie keeps me on the road. If you are looking for a serious deep tissue massage and/or cupping I highly recommend DTM.

My first ever therapeutic massage experience was fantastic! From the professional and relaxing environment to the detailed and thorough therapeutic approach, Deep Tissue Boise and its owner/practitioner, Jackie, made this a very positive first experience.

I’ve seen Jackie twice now in the past week for a 90-minute deep tissue massage, and it was well worth it. She dug deep, and really helped get some tough knots out of my back, glutes and hamstrings. She checked in with me often to make sure the pressure was just where I wanted and that I was comfortable.

★★★★★ — Brooke, Apr 2018

I’ve been going to Jackie for years for deep tissue massage and can’t recommend her enough. I have chronic back pain (for which I’ve tried all sorts of things throughout the years) and monthly massages are the best thing I’ve found that provides relief. Her apprentice Eric is also wonderful.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
