From the reviews
I enjoy seeing Joyce for my massages! She is knowledgeable and insightful, and her massages have helped with my inflammation and headaches. I've seen her twice with a throbbing headache, and she spotted the knots and worked them out. On my first visit, she suggested cupping to help with blood flow and inflammation.
I cannot recommend Joyce at Deep In Massage enough! She provides such a personal and thoughtful experience every single time. Joyce takes the time to truly get to know her clients, and her intuition and ability to “listen” to your body is remarkable.
The quality of your therapist definitely affects your recovery time and functionality. Joyce is the best….! Cupping, tissue work, even laying out different, at home, stretching programs as the area was recovering in between sessions. 👍🏼👍🏼
Joyce is truly an exceptional massage therapist! I’m so grateful for her help. I came in with lower back pain and later with hand pain, and both times the pain was gone after just one session. She’s incredibly skilled and genuinely puts so much care into her work.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
