Why DC Acupuncture, LLC is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “his protocol involves five needles in each ear, and can be performed with disposable needles during a treatment session, or semi-permanent needles that can be worn for days, offering continued pain relief. From the reviews

I started seeing Bronwyn years ago for pain in my neck. When I started it felt like it was a knot the size of a golf ball and within a few sessions it was down to the size of a pea, and then gone.

★★★★★ — Joanna, Dec 2019

Bronwyn is fantastic! I have seen her many times and I always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. The first few times I went to see her, I had sciatic back pain while pregnant and with the acupuncture and cupping sessions I had complete relief.

★★★★★ — Lauren, May 2022

Bronwyn is so welcoming and friendly - she made me feel very comfortable for my first visit. I’ve gone twice already and scheduled for my third because it’s that amazing. The combination of acupuncture, cupping, body work, and relaxation is fantastic.

★★★★★ — Brenan, Feb 2022

Bronwyn is amazing and truly makes you feel like she understands the holistic picture of who you are and why you are coming in for treatment! This is the first practitioner I have ever seen for acupuncture and hot cupping, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Cannot recommend enough!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
