Looking for a great Chinese medicine practitioner? Look no further. Really! David, whose office is in downtown Los Angeles, in a beautiful building, is amazing! I found him on Google and decided to try one session.
I was recommended to David by a friend who has been seeing him for years for her chronic back pain. This was my first time experiencing acupuncture, and I knew I needed to try something new after experiencing deep muscular pains in my back, coupled with a recent scoliosis diagnosis.
I've suffered from chronic shoulder, neck, and cervical disc/pinched nerve pain for several years and have tried so many interventions. Of the many clinics I've gone to in my lifetime, I have seen the most holistic, lasting improvements with David Di.
Dr. David is really good at what he does, I’ve had acupuncture a few different times in my life and I must say you can immediately tell when the needle goes in if it’s in the right spot or not. He really has a steady hand and an intuitive sense of the body.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
