I cannot say enough incredible things about Alyssa as an acupuncturist and the entire team at Connected Healing! I have been an avid advocate for acupuncture and holistic health for a long time, and have been to many providers… I can honestly say that Alyssa and Caitria are the best I have been to!
I originally went to see Caitria for acupuncture appointments after discontinuing birth control and not having a period for 5 months straight. After one appointment with Caitria~my period came back!! I continued to see Caitria to normalize my period and started some supplements she recommended to jump start this.
Since the first day at my consult, I was immediately impressed with Caitria and how she listened to my concerns that have been ignored by other medical professionals. Her less is more approach and finding the root cause to my concerns was exactly what I was looking for.
Absolutely love going. My husband and I both look forward to our appointments and feel better because of them. Caitria makes us feel at ease and I never thought I would fall asleep during my treatments. It is worth the investment.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
