I strongly recommend Jordan Jacobs at Common Thread Wellness. This is more than acupuncture. Jordan uses a holistic approach to partner with her clients so they can improve their mental and physical health. She has created a spa environment that is a peaceful refuge.
Jordan is absolutely amazing & she cares! She couples acupuncture with cupping. A full hour of relaxation! And she is reasonably priced. Her pup mascot is the absolute cherry on top. I look forward to every appointment!
First time I met Jordan from Common Thread Wellness I shook my head and said, “acupuncture was not for me.” As a lifelong skeptic with an aversion to pain, it didn’t seem like my kind of thing.
This was my first experience with Accupuncture and Cupping and Jordan was so informative throughout the process regarding her techniques and how each treatment and product used benefited and worked cohesively together to attain the full body restoration sought. She has a deeply healing, but incredibly gentle touch.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
