What clients say about the cupping here
“I could not believe the boiled toasted rice he shared with me and taught me to prepare actually loosened the rock in my gut over the next few days.”
“His knowledge, professionalism, and caring attitude was refreshing as he treated me for pain in my hip, leg, and knee.”
“CJ also gave us so much information on how to self treat to heal while at home, and explained why certain regimens that we had were hurting rather than helping us.”
“After experiencing a stroke, my life changed drastically—I was completely bedridden and faced with a long, uncertain road to recovery.”
From the reviews
After experiencing a stroke, my life changed drastically—I was completely bedridden and faced with a long, uncertain road to recovery. Desperate for options and eager to regain my independence, I began researching alternative treatments. That’s when I discovered acupuncture, and more importantly, I found CJ.
I noticed Doc's thoughtfulness from the start when he asked if I needed the space heater in the waiting room. He went on to listen to both my symptoms and my ideas on what it is that had happened with me internally before treating me with great care, warming my feet with his hands and the lamp, and adding needed salt…
I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. CJ. After years of ignoring hip pain from childbirth — and then developing knee pain from constantly carrying my second baby — my body felt worn down and out of alignment. I honestly thought this was just my “new normal” as a mom. From my very first visit, Dr.
CJ is absolutely fantastic. Very knowledgeable about what he is doing, takes the time to explain things to you and make suggestions. I saw him for acupuncture to assist with my fertility issues, and while preparing to do an embryo transfer.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
