From the reviews

I’ve had acupuncture done for the past 6 years in different clinics from New York, Seattle, and now LA. Had a lovely initial session with Rose. We did some work on my traps and lower back as well as cupping. Excellent for someone who works in front of a PC most of their day as I had a lot of tension and tightness.

★★★★★ — Francine, Nov 2025

From the moment I scheduled my intake appointment I felt taken care of. I had a couple helpful reminders sent to my email and text leading up which was incredibly helpful. I am recovering from a major surgery.

my first session years ago was with owner Roz. She gave me life changing information about my wellbeing. I discovered the root cause of my ailments and she helped me manage my pain. once when she was available I saw Andrew. He suggests acupuncture PLUS which involved cupping. THIS BLEW MY MIND.

A friend recommended City Acupuncture when my sciatica started acting up. It was my first time doing cupping and acupuncture and it was a really great experience! Andrew was kind and explained everything up front.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
