From the reviews

After my husband saw Dr. Chou a few times and received good results, I decided to give acupuncture and cupping a try. I’m impressed by Dr. Chou’s professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge for holistic self care such as diet and exercise.

I had a hip replacement on 4/1. Then I had a complete revision on 5/07. The revision turned into a pain disorder called Complex Regional Pain Disorder....nerve pain so intense that I could barely move my body without severe pain. On my second visit, Jax really tried to tackle my pain.

★★★★★ — Stephanie, Sep 2025

Great knowledge, helped solved my wife's years of unknown coughing issue within the first 2 visits. Tried others as far as 20 sessions with minor improvement. Doc. Chou was able to identify the main cause and recommended eastern meds to take. And within the first 2 weeks, the coughing stopped by 75%!!

I’m a 71 yr male who loves to play competitive golf. I recently developed severe pain and stiffness in my neck and shoulder from working out too hard. After 3 visits to Dr Chou, I can turn my neck freely and my shoulder pain is gone.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
