From the reviews

Its been a long time, since me and my husband had a full body massages. Today we have full body massages and cupping. Inspite of the situation right now. Because of the cov19. Dr. Chen assure as that her clinic is safe for her patient. She took our temperature. She asked question needs to be answer by the patient.

Dr. Chen, is the BEST acupuncture person I have had. She is generous with needles and time. She is Soft spoken kind and doesn't rush you. My neck pain has drastically improved I feel much better. She gives you the works, acupuncture a massage, cupping a heat lamp.. wow you will leave very satisfied with Dr. Chen.

This woman is the most talented and thorough practioner I have ever had. Trust me - I went to two years of Chinese medicine school myself - this woman has multiple degrees from China and the US and is using a myriad of techniques that the average licensed acupuncturist from the US wouldn’t even know.

Dr. Chen has recently move to 328 N San Mateo Dr., San Mateo Dr Chen is very good. I have been visiting other Acupunture for a few years and not getting the result I wanted. Most of them did an ok job. Dr Chen is diff, she really focuses one patient at a time. She listens and actually spend the time to treat you.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
