From the reviews

I only have good things to say about this place. I got a great massage, that I really needed, combined with cupping. The massage therapist was great and found my problems right away. I can fully recommend it and I will definitely come back.

I’ve been to Chapel Hill Bodyworks twice now for a therapeutic massage and each time has been a great experience. The massage therapists are very knowledgeable and you can tell they have a lot of experience. They always work with me to ensure they help out the target areas of pain I’m dealing with.

My prenatal massage with Diana was fantastic! I have had some soreness in my back and sciatica, day two I feel back relief and no sciatica pain. She worked hard at the tension in my muscles all over and it was just such a relaxing time, I can’t wait to go back.

I had my first body massage experience with Taylor L, and she was absolutely incredible. She listened to all of my problem areas and addressed every single one of them perfectly. I came in feeling like a train wreck, and left feeling relaxed and invigorated.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
