…I was not sure what to expect since it was the first time that I have done acupuncture and cupping. She was very friendly and reassuring as I discussed the issues that I would like to work on. First, we had the consultation then went to the therapy room.
When I first came to Dr. Chah for treatment, I was suffering with chronic headaches and fatigue. I had never received an alternative medicine treatment before, and Dr. Chah took her time to ask me questions about my health history and to explain her plan for treatment. She made me feel safe and relaxed.
Visited Chah Acutherapy and I was so amazed to see how much just one session helped me in every way. First of all the customer service was soooo professional and kind. All staff very attentive and pleasant. Location is very easy to get to, plenty of parking and atmosphere is very relaxing and peaceful.
After meeting with many professionals and not find relief I was blessed to find Dr. Maria. I had been suffering from pain in my hips and shoulder for years. After my treatment plan with her I am finally experiencing relief . She is magic. Not to mention she has a heart if gold. She's a great human.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
