From the reviews
Carolyn is a patient, thoughtful, caring professional. Her training and skill are evident in her treatments. Even with my needle phobia, she was able to put me at ease. I highly recommend her.
I've been coming to Central Penn Acupuncture for years now. There's so many things I love about coming here. First, the welcome and caring atmosphere Carolyn has created. Everyone is welcomed with care and understanding. Second, the detail in which Carolyn uses in her expertise is above and beyond.
I started acupuncture in April of 2021. My main goal was to help with conceiving! By the end of May, I found out I was expecting! I continued with acupuncture throughout my pregnancy. I truly had a wonderful first trimester, free of headaches and morning sickness!
I cannot recommend Central Penn Acupuncture and Wellness enough! I have been seeing her for almost a year now, and the results have been incredible. She has helped me find relief from migraines, muscle tension, and other health issues.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
