A friend of mine bought me a massage for my birthday 5 years ago At the Center of the Healing Arts and now I am a regular patron. Everyone at the center is kind and helpful. I see Laura and I always feel 100% better after my massage.

★★★★★ — Cynthia, Jun 2025

This place is amazing. I've been here for a therapeutic massage three times. The last two times, Karen was my massage therapist. She is amazing and helped with my pinched nerve in my neck. I wish I could go more often! It's very clean and professional. The prices are great. I would HIGHLY recommend.

★★★★★ — Natalie, Feb 2020

This has been my go to place for massages for years. I usually have a different tech each time I go, since I usually book last minute. My massage that I today with Chris Jewell was one of the best massages I’ve had. Deep tissue and he definitely paid attention to the spots we discussed before the massage.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
