From the reviews
Dr. Karen Cox uses multiple techniques to treat my many aches and pains. I have had spinal fusion (L5/S1) and recently had RFA on my nerves in my lower back. She has used acupuncture, massage, cupping, and many more techniques to help with my pain. Dr. Cox has also helped with my plantar fasciitis. She does it all!!
I saw Dr. Karen Cox for her acupuncture and integrative medicine service. We had a detailed intake for my first visit. My top issues were tendonitis and hot flashes. I am amazed at how many things can be alleviated with tiny needles. Last night, I had bad hot flashes, but it felt like purging.
Found Dr. Cox through my Medicare Advantage plan, after I learned my insurance covered acupuncture. Karen was excellent in listening to the various problems I had been experiencing...
My 1st round of acupuncture was a great experience, little or no pain with the needles, I was in a soothing environment, and the Doctor explained everything she was going to do so that I was completely comfortable before she started.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
