From the reviews

I’ve been seeing Lindsey Mckoy with Broomfield Community Acupuncture for 9 years. I went to Broomfield days searching for an acupuncturist to refer my massage clients to. I figured since I’d never had acupuncture before I should give it a try.

I started seeing Lindsey in 2014 for issues surrounding fertility. Lindsey is hands down amazing!! Her demeanor, expertise, kind spirit instantly draws you in. After seeing Lindsey for a short time, my husband and I were pregnant with twins!!

★★★★★ — Amanda, Aug 2018

I love working with Lindsey and everything about community acupuncture. I am always up for my "acunap" in the recliner. I have had Lindsey help with an injured muscle for the last few months and I have seen a noticiable reduction in pain.

I first saw Lindsey for some physical ailments (back pain and skin issues), and after that continued to see her monthly for stress/anxiety. She is kind, professional, and knowledgable. Many times I have been at wiits end dealing with an issue, and sure enough Linsdey has options for me!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
