From the reviews
…Booked cupping and guasha. Kinga is very knowledgeable about her practice, made me feel at ease and the therapies were wonderful! I immediately noticed relief and am excited to see the progress. Have already booked an acupuncture appointment.
…She also does cupping at the facility which really helps muscle tension and opens up blood flow. She is a true professional and can really teach you what’s happening with your body to help you to a better healthy you.
Kinga helped me with my concussion and frozen shoulders that resulted from my bike accident! She is very thorough and very good. I came in dizzy the first appointment and came out that day already feeling much better after the first treatment.
Kinga has dramatically improved the quality of my life. I have GI challenges which started to affect my whole body (headaches, muscle soreness), energy, and overall happiness. Kinga's sessions with me have changed everything - I am now enjoying stomach comfort, increased energy and joy.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Bright Shen Acupuncture
Bright Shen Acupuncture comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
