From the reviews

KC, Jess and Katelyn have done wonders for me so far. After multiple shoulder surgeries and PT at other clinics with mediocre improvement in ROM, I did not have high expectations after my reverse shoulder replacement. After one month of PT this team has already exceeded my expectations.

★★★★★ — Catherine, Nov 2025

My experience with Boston Sports Medicine has been inspirational. I had injured my back and was not making the progress I was hoping for when I switched my care to Boston Sports Medicine. Within a few weeks I was walking more easily and standing straighter than before.

★★★★★ — Jane, Feb 2026

They were able to get me in quickly when I first filled out their online request (someone called me the very next day). They are all very cheerful, pleasant, courteous, and professional.

★★★★★ — Gregg, Nov 2025

I can't reccommend Boston Sports Medicine PT of Swampscott highly enough!!!! Staffed by friendly, enthusiastic, considerate and highly skilled professionals that I have grown to trust with first a hip issue and now my neck. I might be falling apart but Jessica (PT) and team are there to put me back together.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
