From the reviews

I recently visited BOSA Acupuncture & Wellness on Seneca Street in Buffalo, and I’ll admit—I wasn’t entirely sure what I was walking into. It had been years since my last acupuncture session, and my memory of it was tied to a quiet, relaxing experience.

Phenomenal experience at BOSA. I've been suffering from hip pain, as well as tightness in my upper back and shoulders that often cause posterior headaches. I didn't know if I should cancel my first appointment since I didn't feel like I was in a bad flare up. Dan was so personable and knowledgeable.

★★★★★ — Alexandra, Jan 2025

Dan and his entire staff are amazing. The environment is incredibly welcoming and calming from the moment you walk in. I experienced noticeable results immediately after my treatment with Dan—he’s truly skilled at what he does. Plus, they have the absolute cutest shop dog. Highly recommend!

★★★★★ — Joseph, Jul 2025

Dan at BOSA is a highly educated and skilled acupuncturist who consistently gets my body back to peak performance after intense training. His ability to target and relieve muscle tension ensures that I'm always ready to play at my full potential, no matter how demanding the week has been.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
