From the reviews
Mike and his team at Bay State P.T. next to Best Fitness are outstanding and have been treating my family for years with great success and lots of good humor and fun. (You can't say that about most medical teams.
I’ve been a patient at Bay State Chelmsford since my knee replacement surgery. Bay State was highly recommended by my nephew David Marchand. My physical therapist was Mike Sheehan who worked tirelessly with me over many months to regain my strength & range of motion in my knee.
The team here are all friendly and nice, full of good energy, helping each other out. The clients seem to feel good and participate in the general friendly attitude as well. It's an open-plan office with plenty of equipment and an arrangement where they can use the gym next door.
The entire experience at this facility is first class. All of the people are extremely professional and really great at what they do. There is a comfort level throughout the building that really helps people to feel comfortable about their therapy and their very positive to help.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
